Registered Dietitian

The Occupational Health Registered Dietitian part-time position at Phifer Incorporated is responsible for planning and conducting nutritional programs to assist in the promotion of health, wellness, and the control of diseases. The ideal candidate will be able to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings to provide nutritional counseling to Phifer Employees on all shifts. They will conduct nutritional research and communicate this information to employees. This position is also responsible for the instructing or coaching off individuals in exercise activities.

  • Must have a Bachelors’ degree from an accredited college or university
  • One year work experience in a Dietetic position or Health Care Environment
  • Active State of Alabama Registered Dietetian License
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Will design promotional nutritional, physical and other wellness programs
  • Will assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions, physical activities and health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional and health counseling.
  • Will counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and physical exercise to improve their quality of life
  • Will consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional and physical needs and diet restrictions of individuals
  • Will offer and plan routines, and choose different exercises for each set of muscles, depending on individual capabilities and limitations
  • Will evaluate individuals’ abilities, needs, and physical conditions, and develop suitable training programs to meet any special requirements
  • Will serve on the wellness committee

Salary: $18.17 to $20.87 /hour

Graphic Designer

The graphic designer will be responsible for the creative design of advertising and marketing materials that get messages across with high visual impact. This person is expected to have up-to-date knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite applications and must be able to apply these skills to a variety of digital and print marketing efforts, including advertising, promotional material (logos, banners, signage), magazine ads, emails, flyers, product sheets, landing pages and corporate identities. Specifically, this position will require an understanding of technical language and specifications needed to communicate clear instructions to vendors of printed materials (swatch cards, brochures, literature, etc.).  

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Prefer a BA degree from an accredited College or University in Studio Art Design with a focus in Graphic Design and 3+ years job experience as a graphic artist

  • Working knowledge of web design, GIF animation and graphic design coding a plus

  • Design skills reflected through work experience or in a current portfolio of projects/assignments

  • Working knowledge of Mac computers and Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat and Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office software; Quark XPress a plus
  • Strong work ethic and organization skills as well as visual skills with careful attention to detail
  • Creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
  • Ability to interact with, communicate and present ideas to a variety of internal staff members
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
