Phifer operates on a 24 hour production schedule with three straight shifts and four crew shifts. As a world class manufacturer our production positions require skills in mathematics, reading for information and observation. Interested production applicants are encouraged to follow the application instructions below.
1. Applicants may complete a Phifer application at the Tuscaloosa Area Career Center, 202 Skyland Drive, Tuscaloosa AL 35405. Applicants may also register on-line with Alabama Job Link and download a Phifer job application.
2. The Phifer Human Resources Department will screen applications and invite applicants to an “Introduction to Phifer” class. During this class, applicants will learn about job duties, wages and benefits and have a chance to ask questions about hiring and the hiring process. Job applicants that have completed the Ready-To-Work* program and have earned at least “Silver” on the Career Readiness Certificate will become eligible for interview.
3. As job openings become available, Phifer Human Resources will select and invite candidates for job interviews.
4. Job applications are active for one year.
*Ready to Work is the premier pre-employment training program in Alabama. This program is offered through the Alabama Junior College System to become eligible for job interview.
